Congratulations, Carla!
What do you look forward to the most about studying in the U.S. and at your university in particular?
Learning from incredibly inspiring professors such as Yann LeCun who was awarded the 2018 most prestigious technical award: the A.C.M. Turing Award.
What is the best memory or experience you have had during your years as a CCC member?
I remember my first CCC meeting as if it happened yesterday! I came to Madrid from Gran Canaria to find that all the CCC members and advisors were incredibly nice. I loved the energy and opinions that everyone brought to the meeting; we talked about our ambitions, our accomplishments and how we were going to improve upon ourselves to not only become better applicants but also, and most importantly, better individuals. I loved it!
What has being part of the CCC meant for you? How has it helped you?
Being in the CCC gave me the opportunity to expand my options and apply to the US. Now I know so much more about US customs and academic life and I learnt it from people who have experienced it first-hand. I will be forever grateful for the invaluable advice I received throughout the programme as well as for the option of attending online meetings that allowed me to connect with Madrid from Gran Canaria.
What would you say to the students who are going to start being part of the CCC next year?
Start early and make the most of this fantastic opportunity!
